Amazings transforms LEGO into art: from 2D to 3D portraits

LEGO® is a fascinating tool, you can create a magnificent piece of art with just a few bricks. And that's all it takes to build a LEGO portrait, to organise an event or to even create pieces of art out of LEGO bricks.

Amazings creates original works of fine art for exhibits, galleries and musea. Although they are meant to amaze the audience, all these creations can also be purchased.

We have numerous examples of our 3D art pieces, from buildings to fine art, and our latest project for Proximus was a big success!

Transformations of art, people and buildings

Amazings transforms art, we re-create magnificent pieces of art, such as this work from Michele Volpicella. The scale model of the Ten Duinen Abbey in LEGO bricks is one of the absolute eye-catchers in the exhibition of the Abbey Museum.

A few months ago Dirk took it a step further. Together with Belgian actor Tom Waes, he built a treehouse made entirely of LEGO bricks, 100.000 bricks to be exact! They realized the project in association with Ketnet to make the dream of 11-year-old Victor come true.

A good example of a 3D transformation is the fact that Amazings transforms people into LEGO sculptures. Meanwhile Dirk has been crafting heads of various celebreties from all around the world: George Clooney, Jackie Chan, Hagrid, Charlie Chaplin, Rowan Atkinson and even Dirk Denoyelle himself are no exception.

Often we also have to take a look at photos of different people or buildings. It is impossible to visit all the locations or to meet all the people that we recreate using LEGO bricks. And that's where the real transformation begins. We have to rely on the supplied visual material to translate a 2D picture into a 3D masterpiece. It's not the easiest job in the world, but it's a lot of fun!

Are you wondering what else we can transform into a 2D or a 3D masterpiece. Take a look at the portraits and sculptures we made for our clients and friends!
