A Closer Look at "Boole"

One of the works on display in the exhibition "Koksijde bouwt met LEGO® Blokjes" was inspired by the work of George Boole. We'd love to introduce him!

George Boole(1815 - 1864) laid the foundation for modern computers through his Boolean algebra. Ones and zeroes, and then adding and subtracting them... all thanks to him.

This art piece is a part of the “Science and Stones” exhibit developed with and for Technopolis. Last summer, it was on show at the Brussels Royal Palace.  The odd part about this mosaic is that it consists of a well defined series of ones and zeroes, made with LEGO® bricks. And those ones and zeroes all have a meaning. Each series of 8 stands for one letter/character, following the international ASCII Code. You can have a go at deciphering it all using the code below. And actually, there is one mistake in the text. Can you find it ?
