Leidschendam (near Den Haag), It's a busy time for Bricks of Wonder in the Westfield Mall of The Netherlands! After a series of enthusiastic visitors, they recently had the pleasure of welcoming none other than Ad Lansink. Lansink, the visionary behind the famous Ladder of Lansink, paid a surprise visit to the expo.
A LEGO Tribute to a Sustainability Pioneer
Lansink was particularly interested in the sub-gallery on Science and Climate, where an impressive LEGO evocation of his Ladder of Lansink can be admired. This creation conveys the essence of his ideas in a playful and accessible way.
Although Dirk Denoyelle himself could not be present, a quick phone call was made. Both gentlemen expressed their admiration for each other's work. Ad Lansink is not only a politician with a passion for the environment, but also a great art lover, as can be seen on his website adlansink.nl under "beeldspraak - kunstenaars."
Book Exchange and Inspiration
The visit was crowned with a book exchange. "De Klimaatschok" (The Climate Shock) by Geert Noels, co-written by Dirk's daughter Yanaika Denoyelle, was central to the discussions. Lansink also took home "Brilliant Bricks" (by Dirk) and "Tiny Homes" by Laura Denoyelle, allowing the inspiration to continue to grow.

The Ladder of Lansink, also known as the waste hierarchy, is an internationally recognized model for waste management. It describes a preferred order for waste processing, with prevention having the highest priority, followed by reuse, recycling, incineration with energy recovery, and finally landfill. Na een reeks van enthousiaste bezoekers, mochten ze onlangs niemand minder dan Ad Lansink verwelkomen. Een LEGO Eerbetoon aan een Duurzaamheidspionier
Lansink was speciaal geïnteresseerd in de deelgalerij over Wetenschap en Klimaat, waar een indrukwekkende LEGO-evocatie van zijn Ladder van Lansink te bewonderen is. Deze creatie brengt de essentie van zijn gedachtegoed op een speelse en toegankelijke manier over.
Hoewel Dirk Denoyelle zelf niet aanwezig kon zijn, werd er snel even gebeld. Beide heren spraken hun bewondering voor elkaars werk uit. Ad Lansink is niet alleen een politicus met een passie voor het milieu, maar ook een groot kunstliefhebber, zoals te zien is op zijn website adlansink.nl onder "beeldspraak - kunstenaars."
Boekenwisseling en Inspiratie
Het bezoek werd bekroond met een boekenwisseling. "De Klimaatschok" van Geert Noels, mede geschreven door Dirks dochter Yanaika Denoyelle, stond centraal in de gesprekken. Lansink kreeg ook "Brilliant Bricks" (van Dirk) en "Tiny Homes" van Laura Denoyelle mee naar huis, waarmee de inspiratie verder kan groeien.
Wat is de Ladder van Lansink?
De Ladder van Lansink, ook bekend als de afvalhiërarchie, is een internationaal erkend model voor afvalbeheer. Het beschrijft een voorkeursvolgorde voor de verwerking van afval, waarbij preventie de hoogste prioriteit heeft, gevolgd door hergebruik, recycling, verbranding met energieterugwinning en als laatste storten.
